External hard drive (only which brand) 2tb?

I would need an external hard drive (without external power supply) (preferably 2tb to back up all my data…)

I just don't know which one?!

On Amazon I found only the cheapest WD, Seagate expansion, Intenso and Toshiba canvio basics… (with each about 8% negative bad reviews, like either "After a few months broken" "after exactly 2 years just dead" at the seagate eg "very slow" and at the Wd "do not buy, controller encrypted data and thus data that is no longer usable if the controller is defective"

I have to say that I have always only had Seagate disks (but only in the desktop and laptop)

They all still work since min 2008; -) (only the only WD hard drive in the desktop PC is scratched off with a microchip burned out…)

the seagate hard disk in my desktop, wanted to say goodbye and clinking n 1/2 year ago… (but has now recovered and has been running again since then… Even if "condition only attention 33%")

whether that suggests that the seagate is better?

with an external hard drive, is the controller also important?

which is the fastest and the most solid, long-lasting?

Hard disk 2TB, USB 3.0 VERBATIM 47683,

currently there promotional price

I have had good experiences with WD, Samsung and Seagate.

Without additional power supply you need 2.5 "
With housing WD 2TB and

without the case you need a Sata to USB adapter.

USB 3 can be recognized quickly on the PC with a blue color on the connector.
The new WD 2TB are USB 3.

The price should not exceed 70 euro.

I wish you success

Addition if there are problems, create clones and play it safe.

In principle it doesn't matter. There's almost only Seagate, WD everyone else has

the spindle plate segment abandoned to SSD long-term, there's still no

correct empirical values.

From my many years of IT knowledge. Buy 2 different disks (different manufacturers) and make a double backup + cloud.

Do you have n free USB3 port? This is because more electrical power comes out if the device turns it on correctly…
otherwise it doesn't matter whether you take Intenso, Seagate, WD, Toshiba, Verbatim or something else with a known / old name… They all last the same length… Of course external HDDs have a harder time because they are constantly being moved so much…
there would be an example: https://geizhals.de/...at&hloc=de

Thanks for the answer;-)

Yes, on my desktop…

The cheapest way to get 1 TB cloud is with Office 365? 30-50 euro / year (depending on what a good deal you get).

I have external 2.5 plates from Seagate (2014), Toshiba (2016), WD (2016), Intenso (no idea) and one from Platinum (2013, there's a Toshiba installed).

No failures.

The Toshiba is 3 TB and always hangs on the back of the computer for permanent backup (via Genie Timeline).

For sporadic backups (images of drives according to the generation principle; backup of my private videos and RAW photos) I have ne https://www.amazon.de/...B00JT8AJZ0 (2015).
Power supply is of course annoying.
If you have a WD disk you can get it from WD Acronis TrueImage (but ne WD Edition). Enough. I've also restored the PC a few times.

I still save my most important documents in OneDrive (password-protected RAR archive). For example, Scans / backups of ID cards, certificates, contracts, licenses.

Thank you, which models are you using?

The cheapest, such as canvio base?

Seagate expansion?

And thank you again for your answer
