Yes it works. Press Windows [Key] + P [Key] and choose what you want. For the sound, you can select the sound icon on the taskbar and thus select the desired output.

Jo, have a monitor with speaker and HDMI. Just have to switch the input device to the monitor (taskbar on the speaker and then click the up arrow (for Win10))
