My Akoya laptop (Model: P6634) beeps when starting. After 10 seconds it will continue to beep and the following will be displayed:
Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key.
Does anyone know why this could be and what I have to do to make it work again?
Your laptop no longer recognizes the hard drive.
If it doesn't work after a couple of reboots, the hard drive is (partially) defective and should probably be replaced.
No, it can also be that it just doesn't boot properly. Then it has to boot into the BIOS and from the hard drive. Vlt she also has 2. Had the same problem
Your computer can't find a boot medium. That should be the hard drive or SSD your operating system is on, so probably Windows. It could be that your Windows just crashed or damaged and just needs to be reinstalled. That would only be a software error. However, since the laptop also "beeps", it could be a hardware problem. The BIOS / UEFI complains about an error with a beep. Then your hard drive or SSD could be broken. This must then be replaced. Then Windows and all programs must be reinstalled. Personal data is and will be lost if the scenario applies. In rare cases, an incorrect BIOS / UEFI setting can also be to blame. But if you haven't changed anything in the BIOS / UEFI, then this is very unlikely.
