What to do if the SD card slot in the notebook expires in pairs?

Is it possible to repair this or something has to be exchanged there. It does not work every card with it. It arbitrarily refuses one or the other card and then shows nothing in Explorer.

You are right. Then the card reader is probably not the best (but must not be broken, just incompatible) … Barely worth exchange, then rather a USB stick is a card reader.

I use the external card reader if it does not work. It's annoying, but heck. Do not pay 100 euro or more for the card reader repair.

I understand that… Is stupid if you can't do it yourself… But you must (can't) do everything.
