Chipset defective?

My notebook (Acer Aspire 8730) has a permanent black screen. This did not happen during normal use, but during an upgrade process. I should upgrade Windows Vista to 7, but I messed around too much (from win vista-win 7- win 8-win 8.1-win 10 and then somehow to 7 ultimate again or something similar) In any case, when I had upgraphed any Win version, I had to restart and since then I have a permanent black screen took the notebook to diagnose the problem and was told that the graphics card is 100% broken, so I got a new MXM graphics card with the same connector for the graphics card slot and ordered thermal pads and thermal paste that will arrive in a few days In addition, at the service I was told that the mainboard had also been tested and 90% were problem-free and 10% not stable, which is why the service man claimed that the chipset could also be defective One explanation for this claim is that the graphics card is broken only with the heater (don't know what he means by heater) and the chipset and the graphics card are so close (i.e. In the mainboard) and are cooled by the same cooling system. This claim is true, because at the start the LED goes on and the cooler goes on as usual, only I have a permanent black screen

If the laptop has a separate video output (VGA even better DVI look up in the manual) then you can connect an external monitor there.

Then switch on the monitor laptop too, if an image now appears on the monitor (no black screen) then the graphics card is okay. And the cause is different, if not then change the card and try again (even without a monitor).
