What is important for your own Minecraft survival server?

I want to run the server from my laptop (Java Edition, Windows 10)

I have almost no experience, so a few questions:

If someone else wants to play on the server, must my laptop be switched on?

Is there a way to install a seed?

What system properties do you need? Is an Acer Nitro 5 enough for 2-3 people at the same time?

Do you have any other tips for a private Minecraft server?

Yes he has to.

Is there a way to install a seed?

Yes, you can define a seed in the server.properties.

Probably not.

Rent 4 euro / month server

You can set up a server very quickly (it's not difficult). But it is only ready for your local network. If players are to access it from outside of your network, you have to set up port sharing in your router (and pc-firewall)

Ap

It is more worth buying a VServer, it is much cheaper and you have endless options (based on linux)

Fo

Of course but do you mean someone who asks these questions to set up a server on Linux?

Ap

There are many tutorials on this, I think this can be done with some effort, there are also many programs (e.g. Filezilla) with which you can edit the server graphically. But well, it is far too complicated to begin with

The tutorials are also available for a local Windows server and yet we're xD here

Ap

The point is tutorials for local windows servers don't get you far (at least not in my case). I had to request an ipv4 address first because we didn't have one. Detours for this problem are not said in tutorials. With a root server, the provider has already made all the important settings (firewall, etc.), so a tutorial for this linux version is (usually) sufficient
