1200 euro laptop defective after 17 days?

A good 2 1/2 weeks ago I bought a laptop from the local electronics store. For me, the whole thing was anything but a cardboard handle. 1200, - € yes good.

so after working for a good 17 days and here and there with the device the spacebar no longer works from now on.

somehow it is in the back of my mind that the dealer has to take back the device within the first 14 days and refund my money back.

now day 17… Right to repair, the device will be sent in etc. Etc. You know the game yes. Wait and wait: /

my question is: is it correct that the retailer has to reimburse without hesitation within the first 14 days or does a period of XY beyond apply?

I do not want the device to be sent in. I want my money back and nothing else because I'm generally disappointed with the brand and product. 1200 euro 17 days of use and already the space bar is broken… What am I supposed to do with it.

You have to go to the dealer. Of course, you have the right to have the laptop repaired. You have no right to return the money.

fa

If you bought on site, there's no right of return.

The dealer has 3 unsuccessful repair attempts before the exchange.

Fl

The part should already have a two-year guarantee!

Ma

Nope. Why should that be so?

Fl

How much guarantee do new devices have?

Ma

Absolutely none. Unless the manufacturer guarantees anything.

Fl

As far as I know, the manufacturer's warranty is 2 years.

Ma

Is it correct that the retailer has to reimburse without hesitation within the first 14 days

No of course not.
You write yourself that you have physically entered the dealer's business premises to buy locally.

br

No, he doesn't have to.

This only applies to online trading.

Ah

Guarantee is a voluntary service of the manufacturer / seller.

You have a 2 year warranty, this is guaranteed by law. The so-called "reversal of the burden of proof" still applies for the first 6 months - that is; The dealer / manufacturer must prove that the defect was not yet present when the product was purchased. Since this is impossible in the vast majority of cases, your damage is usually asserted through your warranty rights.

After these 6 months, however, the buyer is obliged to prove that the defect already existed at the time of purchase. Which, in most cases, is impossible. In this respect, after the 6 months you are always somewhat dependent on the mercy of the manufacturer / seller. And they are usually very gracious.

Ma

You put too much effort into this person. But then she learns it through you.
