I have a laptop with 8 Gb RAM and slowly it is getting less and less and I wanted to get myself a new RAM with 16 Gn RAM. And my question is 2 * 4GB are built into my laptop and if I take one out and put the 16 Gb RAM in, I have 20 Gb RAM because 16 + 4 = 20?
I can't recommend it.
Dual channel does not work with RAM sticks with different capacities.
Just leave it at 16GB.
So I mean right now I have 8 Gn in there and 2 times 4 GB should I then take out both 4 GB sticks and put in one 16 GB stick?
What, why do you want to buy a 16GB stick? Buy 2x8GB or if you absolutely need more 2x16 (if 32GB are supported)
Are you sure that it can address 16GB in a bank?
Please check before purchasing.
If I buy 16 GB once it costs 78 euro and if I buy 2 times 8 GB it costs 100 euro
The extra charge is worth it.
