Since I work with a lot of confidential data, I play with the idea of buying a Nitropad laptop (converted ThinkPad with Coreboot etc.). Increase.

I know that 550 euro is a lot for a used Thinkpad. Is it worth flashing a similar notebook yourself?

not necessarily that, but it is very much for an X230 … A corresponding device without a coreboot is available for less than 200 euro…
Device condition: completely overhauled, scratches, pressure marks on the screen, small cracks in the case and / or other small blemishes (optical defects). Technically flawless.
A device with such quirks and at that age I would not even buy for 300 euro. Coreboot is very sexy, but the price is really too high!
Addendum: About a year ago I bought an X250 in very good condition (without any quirks, like new) for 300 euro. Just to have a comparison.
So better buy the Nitrokey alone and flash the device yourself?
Unfortunately I don't know my way around and I don't know how complex and / or risky it is.
Okay thanks!
