I still have a 10 year old laptop lying around and I wonder if it is worth getting fit again… Or if it is worth investing money. Before I install Windows 10, expand the RAM to 8GB and replace an SSD hard drive. The laptop can only be used for surfing, working and maximally for the game League of Legend. What do you think it's worth it?

Yes, it's worth it. If it still works, make a Linux box out of it.
It costs nothing and the thing is still usable.
I wouldn't put any more money in there. The question is whether you can get drivers for the W10.
Put a Linux Mint on it, it's relatively resource-saving… Runs very nicely on a comparable plane for me.
That would probably cost more than a new laptop. Once I had one from HP, I'll write you the link.
