Black screen when playing video on PC?

A colleague of mine played a series from his laptop to my cell phone and it runs as normal. Then I dragged it over to my PC and tried it out with 2 players, but the picture was always completely black, the sound was there. Do you have any ideas?

Which players did you test and what format are the files in?

Mp4 and the Windows Player already installed

That's what the VLC player is for, it plays everything…
