I have Kali Linux Live running on my laptop via a USB stick. Now I want to install the operating system on the hard drive via the live version, because all other attempts to install Kali have failed. Is the?
Ave!
I know everyone has to start out with Linux and therefore has relatively little experience, but if you don't even get it installed I don't know if it's the right operating system for you.
I know how to install it. It just fails every time… That's why I wanted to start the live version first and install kali over the live version
The thing is, you're not exactly giving us a lot of information.
Analogy: You ask us to explain practically why the plane crashed and you just tell us that it just crashed.
From this we can't recognize the problem and would have to guess at random.
But why does it fail? Not enough memory? Does the formatting not work? Will the system be installed in Klingon?
As a Kali Linux user and professional PenTester, you should know that you have to provide this information…
Kali Linux is a distro aimed at professionals because you have to set up almost everything manually.
As a beginner I would rather recommend Linux Mint: https://linuxmint.com/...xmint.com/ There are 3 editions that only differ in the desktop. Just choose the one you like.
P.S. The Kali tools included with Kali Linux can also be installed under Linux Mint. Since Linux Mint is based on Ubuntu and is 100% compatible with it, you proceed as follows: https://itrig.de/index.php?/archives/2398-Katoolin3-Kali-Linux-Tools-unter-Ubuntu-20.04-LTS.html
This is installed like any other Debian based distribution.
The best solution - to use Kali as a live distribution - which was originally encouraged by the creators.
