Hi and although I have Kali Linux "installed" on a USB stick on my PC I could easily boot and use Kali Linux from the USB stick. However, I need the whole thing for my notebook… I have an Asus zenbook pro 15 with i9 and gtx 1050ti… At first the boot did not work at all then I disabled the secure boot and it worked. Well, at least until the time when "a start job is running for live-config contains the components kali linux…" has stopped in a loop. Absolutely not know what I can do there. Anyone tips?
It is a well-known graphic problem. Once GRUB starts, press "e" to edit the boot record. In the line beginning with "linux" remove "splash" and insert "nouveau.modeset = 0" at the end of the line (preceded by a space). Then press CTRL + X. This will allow you to boot into the system and then make the setting persistent in the grub.cfg.
PS: What do you need Kali Linux for? Kali Linux is aimed exclusively at people who already have a lot of experience with GNU / Linux systems and want to perform penetration and security tests.
Thank you, I'll try that. At the moment it is only a school project.
Has worked great.
Until the time when "a start job is running for live-config contains the components kali linux…" stopped in a loop.
If he stops at the spot this is not a loop, because a loop repeats itself over and over again!
For someone who specializes in Linux (these are the target group of Kali Linux) but ask you strange questions that you should be able to solve.
So if you are not a specialist, then please use a distribution that suits your intellect.
Here you can find.
Linux Hase
Try Linux Mint. Here is the download of the ISO: http://mirrors.evowise.com/linuxmint/stable/19/linuxmint-19-cinnamon-64bit-v2.iso
The Kali tools can also be added to the Linux Mint package sources. Here is a Python script that adds a package source with the Kali tools so it does not get in the way of the Linux Mint package sources: https://www.ubuntu.com/download/server/thank-you?country=DE&version=18.04.1.0&architecture=amd64
