Blu-ray drive (external) for PC?

Does anyone know a Blu-Ray drive for the PC? I have a few movies I want to watch on the laptop, only has no drive. The drives that I found on Amazon are apparently only suitable for writing.

Pe

There you are subject to a mistake. Any drive that can write Blue-Ray can read it, of course!

Em

I would be very surprised if the burners could not read. In the past, the BluRay drives could not write (or were they usually installed), so I assume that's why it's so explicit. These days, most of them can read and write.

Gu

Oh, thanks ^^

Gu

Thank you ^^

Pe

I bought this:

https://www.amazon.de/...07QGRY2P5/
and I'm completely satisfied with it. I use a laptop with external keyboard, external monitor as a "PC at work", but I can also stop off on holiday or to take events and take away. The drive is thus at the "PC workstation".

th

That works with everyone. In addition, every burner should be able to read

You also need a program that can play the Blu-Ray. Due to the copy protection of Blu-Rays you have to buy such a program unfortunately.

https://www.amazon.de/...07C5K53MB/

Drive, for example: https://www.amazon.de/...01FUIYMDC/

Gu

Sounds good, thanks.

Wa

Many devices, is already software to play.

There are also freeware that you do not have to buy

To watch Blurays you need a suitable player.

Win10 does not even bring one for DVDs.

And the VLC player can't play blurays. (At least no purchase movies with copy protection).

In addition, commercial software players are the best solution:

I've seen it now too, but it does not seem that often. (I've just skimmed through a few forum threads). Mostly PowerDVD is recommended.

Gu

Oha I thought that could simply play with the media player So I have to buy no matter what drive a program to play the Blu-Ray can?

Gu

Ok that's top ^^

Pe

I can confirm that, was not asked, but it makes sense to know!

Gu

That's good to know, thanks.

th

Yes, apparently also freeware. But I do not know what programs are.

Wa

Yes, because Blu-ray movies are encrypted with AASC (Advanced Access Content System).

the Vlc player e.g. Can play this when installing a specific plugin.
