Have the problem that one of my PCs broke is unfortunately the Blu-ray drive (Samsung SH-B083l). I got a Sata to USB cable to continue to use the drive. Problem is only that my Asus laptop (Windows 10) and my Acer (Windows 7) both the Blu-ray drive does not recognize. When I look in the device manager, although a driver is installed, this is among drives. Does not it have to be below CD-ROM drives? In addition, it is so that the drive is not even recognized in the Explorer. Tried on these PCs → Manage> Disk Management> and then assign a letter manually but every time I try to initialize the device is on my Windows 10 computer "heavy hardware error" and the Windows 7 Calculator "request could because of an e- / a devices fail to run error ". The hardware error can be excluded because the device has still worked in the old PC.
What else I have done:
1.) Looked whether "initio controller" was installed in the device manager because that was often a problem with Blu-ray drives but is not installed.
2.) Deleted with CC cleaner registry
3.) With drivecleanup Unnecessary drivers deleted brings nothing
4.) Also, all USB port of my PCs, I tried
Does one know what I can still try / make? Am with my Latin slowly at the end. If anyone has any suggestions, always be grateful for everything.
Is this a "simple" SATA to USB cable, so for 5- 15 EURO?
Since we already had problems with, if you wanted to connect a special CD / DVD drive with it to a USB port, hard drives were selsamerweise almost always.
We suspect that the integrated implementation of this cable with CD-DVD drives to the USB interpreter does not communicate cleanly and therefore such effects occur.
After we bought then an external housing (suitable for CD / DVD and hard disk) with USB output for PC and the drive therein in it; the problems were not there anymore.
As I said, this turned out to be with us, you can of course not so 1: 1 set for your case, but at least as an info.
Could you tell me which housing or what cable you have then used? Maybe with ebay link would help me a lot. Because yes it is such a simple SATA tu USB cable
Something with ICY 5.25 external housing USB 3, just Googling because I unfortunately have no more information
