No matter what on Displayport?

So I ordered a monitor with 240hz and hdmi can only transmit 120hz so how can I get 240hz with my laptop connections: hdmi, usb 3.0 and 3.1 usb c mini displayport which adapters go and then 240hz can be used and which cable thank you for the answer already now.
