I'm currently using the free version of DaVinciResolve on my laptop. (Vers. 16.2) However, 4K material can hardly be cut with it, because it just jerks when playing, regardless of which proxy I use or how far I turn it down.
Therefore I'm now wondering whether the performance is better with the paid studio version and whether I can cut 4k material better with it. (?)
It also depends on your laptop. The graphics card could not keep up with 4k material
Your problem is "stupid". Editing has nothing to do with software (which makes it jerky), but with your computer. Of course it depends on what kind of PC you have, if you have a "normal" (Intel HD Grapics / GT700 or similar) office PC / laptop, 4K cutting is almost impossible (DEPENDS ON THE SPECS) .
