Wi-Fi on the pc weak?

I got a new PC, there I have 1-2 bars of Wi-Fi. Had a notebook in front of it, which was in the same place and always had all the bars. My cell phone as well. Why is it that the Pc has such poor reception? Lan doesn't work, possibly Dlan.

Ma

Maybe your router has a 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz Wi-Fi under the same name.

It may well be that your Wi-Fi from the PC is even better than from your mobile phone and notebook and your PC dials into the 5Ghz Wi-Fi. However, the 5Ghz Wi-Fi has a shorter range and therefore fewer bars.

But that would only be advisable…

Az

Perhaps a worse WLAN card is installed, because it is similar for me.

Can you maybe attach antennas to the back of the PC? Maybe that would improve the connection.

If the connection is too bad for you, you can simply use USB tethering with your mobile phone.

Th

And how can I change that?

Ma

You could place a repeater on the route between your router and your PC at a point with the best possible reception, which supports 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz Wi-Fi.

Alternatively, you could change the SSID of the 5Ghz W-Lan in the router, which would mean that you would have to choose which of the two networks you want to use and compare different devices better. As long as the SSID, i.e. The name of the network for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, is the same, the device automatically selects the network with the faster connection, even if it has fewer bars.

Let's say this:
I strongly doubt that the antennas of the two devices were in exactly the same place, with the same orientation.

Quite apart from the question of hardware quality…

ta

Is that really the reason? 😂
You overestimate the influence of frequencies on the whole.

Ma

It CAN be the reason.
Are we both on site and can check this?

I just wanted to say something other than "this and this is too bad!"

ta

You're right: anything is possible in the subjunctive - even a cow jumps over the moon. 😉

Ma

No, a cow that jumps over the moon is very unlikely, contrary to my claim.

ta

That is your opinion - it has already become clear.
Of course it is not falsifiable - and m. E. Very unimportant in the present case.
