So I've recently upgraded my 16k line to 90k. I have set up a second wi-fi network. On the PC in the cellar where the router is, it also works with the new network to connect (Network2) also on my phone and my laptop, it has worked to connect to my network via WLAN2.
Now to my problem, until now I have always used for the PC in the top of the house one of these sockets routers to verbeinen me with a LAN cable. But now I find in Windows 10 not the menu to connect to me with wireless networks that is not displayed as in my laptop or PC in the basement?
Does your PC have WLAN?
No, do I have to set this up first?
WLAN is hardware side, your PC does not have a WLAN card you have to retrofit
You have to connect / install a WLAN receiver. These are available for installation in the PC or which you simply connect via USB.
First write what you understand by sockets router:
A wireless repeater?
A wireless access point?
A dLAN (powerline) adapter (you need at least 2 of them)?
Or actually a mini-router?
It is very helpful if you call the manufacturer and model name of the socket adapter and also the router in the basement.
Depends on whether your PC has built a wireless card, otherwise you either have to continue to use a LAN cable or retrofit a wireless card. Alternatively, there are also Wi-Fi sticks, Fritz, for example, are quite good.
