I bought a laptop and heard that you can activate more cores I activated 1 and switched it to 6 cores if I now set it to 8 cores so activate the cores break faster or something

Lo

That would be new to me that this is what CPu / laptop is it

Ti

Nonsense, that doesn't exist

It's built for that. It eats more energy and could possibly work faster.

I'm just wondering if the question is serious.

Of course there's, I can also set the UEFI to switch off certain cores.

e.g. I could switch off 3 of my 4 cores. So I only have 1 core and 2 logical cores. If I then switch off HT, I would effectively have only one logical core.

This thing in msconfig? How many cores should be used for booting? Just leave it at default. That makes absolutely no difference, but in doubt can cause problems!

The option is not intended to activate all virtual or real processors, but to switch off individual ones. By default, the kernel uses all kernels that are available and can be used according to the license. You won't get any more performance if you want to make adjustments there.
