Change resolution on HDMI screen?

After my laptop screen broke, I connected my television to my laptop via HDMI. This is also possible but it runs very slowly because it is difficult for my laptop to have a 1080p resolution.

I always had the resolution 1024x768 on my laptop, but I can't find an option to set this on the television anywhere. Is this possible?

Yes it is possible, you have to right click on your desktop, then Nvidia Control Panel and then adjust the resolution.

Or simply change the resolution in the menu on your television.
