Have you updated your keyboard driver under the Device Manager?
My cat has probably manipulated the mouse function in my absence. Apparently it works now after some trial and error. With system control - Easier operation - Operation of the keyboard. There at "Activate mouse action" the hook removed. Actually, I had an option "Activate number keys", which I couldn't find. But well, puzzlingly it works now with the "mouse function" turned off.
