Change static public ip?

My router is the Vodafone Station and I strongly suspect it has a static public IP because it just doesn't change no matter what I try.

Now my question: How can I change this? Have tried noble software. Can you maybe do something on the router? Do I have to call Vodafone and ask for a new IP?

I'm connected to the router with my laptop via Wi-Fi.

I don't want to use a proxy, VPN or something similar.

Wa

Call Vodafone and ask for a new IP?

the only variant.

Actually, you just have to tell the router to reconnect. Then he gets a new IP assigned.

pr

Also with a static one?

Tr

This only works with dynamic IPs.

Tr

It is best to ask immediately whether you could have a dynamic one.

Then you don't have to call every time you want to change the IP.

The reason for this is the higher level of security.

Tr

You can neither solve this with software nor with router settings.

Contact your provider.

Many thanks.

"and I strongly suspect that it has a static public IP"

She did not. With the newer Vodafone cable connections, the IP connection is carried out via DS Lite, i.e. You only have your own public IPv6 address (or prefix) and IPv4 is provided through a tunnel to a DS Lite server from Vodafone via IPv6. In this way you share your IPv4 address with around 100 other participants and if the same DS Lite server is always assigned, it does not change (unfortunately I do not know whether this is the case with Vodafone Kabel)

In the past, you could have Vodafone Kabel switch to pure dynamic IPv4 via the hotline, then you would get a normal dynamic IPv4 address (but then you have to restart the router a few times more often because the same address was often assigned again) and not at all IPv6. Unfortunately, I don't know whether this is still possible.

Ri

You can't say that across the board. The statement usually only refers to DSL connections, because that was the way the major providers in Germany (at least earlier) implemented this.

pr

So on its side where you can find out your own IP address, the hostname says: "Hostname XXXXXXX.dynamic.kabel-deutschland.de" and I made the where x was unrecognizable. Does this dynamic mean that the IP is dynamic? Unfortunately, it does not change

pr

Assignment: https://whatismyipaddress.com/dynamic-static so static after all

Ri

The assignment specification is an assumption from the query website. It's not that wrong, because that's the fixed IP of a DS Lite server from Vodafone.

You share the address with dozens of other Vodafone cable users.

My router is the Vodafone Station and I strongly suspect it has a static public IP because it just doesn't change no matter what I try.

Apart from the fact that this is at least not the case with IPv4 - and with IPv6 it makes sense: Where should the problem be with something like that?

pr

That I don't want her not to change I'm blocked on certain pages and would therefore like to benefit from a new or dynamic IP

ta

Your mistake in thinking is that you think that you can solve the problem by changing your IP number.
If the operators of the "certain sides" only use a little brains for programming, it will be of no use at all.

pr

I tried it with a buddy by connecting to his mobile data volume and it worked. So Ip dependent. I don't know exactly what the location is, but I assume that a change of IP could help

ta

Only this much: This test says nothing at all, as other devices were involved.

pr

Yes but you can try it because if it works it's stupid not to try it and ne dynamic is in my situation much better anyway, I'm a simple consumer
