Connect the printer to the laptop / PC?

I recently tidied up and found my somewhat older Canon PIXMA iP 3500 printer. In any case, I want to connect it to my PC now (Windows). I don't have the CD-Rom for the driver, etc. I have just downloaded the driver from Canon, but Canon no longer supports Windows 10, so I downloaded the driver for Windows 8. Since I don't know my way around that much, I wanted to ask whether it could still work?

I would just plug it in and have windows gugged myself. Now it works quite well and they recognize the device themselves and get the best driver.

if it works perfectly I would leave it that way - otherwise you can have a look what he says about the win 8 driver… Maybe he doesn't want it because his own is newer.

Can work. Some special things may not work or work only to a limited extent.

*) = 32 bit version. - The 64 bit version is called: "ip3500vst6410ea24.exe"

Then start the driver installation with a double click on the download.

During installation, the printer is not connected until it is switched on.
