Need a new laptop and wanted to know which one is suitable.
Use it occasionally (homework, word, exel, etc.)
The Lenovo ThinkPads are among the best laptops for such purposes. Even if they may be a bit unnecessary. For school assignments you don't really need to pay attention to anything special, except enough memory.
Since you only use it occasionally anyway and don't do anything particularly demanding, you can get for 200-300 euro e.g. Buy a used Thinkpad on ebay.
there you get at least an i5 (4th gen up), 8GB RAM and an SSD
I'm assuming that you don't have 800 euro as a student, I googled a bit and found a page with 3 slightly older models that are sufficient for Excel, Word etc. And only cost around 280 euro

Currently there are models with AMD Ryzen Mobile models
Example:
Lenovo Think Pad e595
Asus Zephyrus G14
You can get it quite cheap with the appropriate equipment. You don't need great additional graphics cards because the AMD Vega graphics units in the AMD Ryzen Mobile are powerful enough for general purposes. And even for smaller games.
Hi, mine is 13 years old. 17 inches very reliable. You can't go wrong with an Hp. I'm happy with a 14 year old 17 Zoöö notebook. I gave him a SSD 612.
