Mirror screen?

Laptops unfortunately have VERY often a display that MIRRORS except a few models and brands, have read that it was made for design. Does anyone else know any better reason, since I feel it as a nonsense of the manufacturer?

The colors and the contrast are much better on a glossy display than on a matt one.
