Netflix on a big screen via PC look is not?

I just connected my laptop to a bigger screen near my bed with an HDMI cable. Everything works as it should, only Netflix does not stream the movies over, so it's black on the screen and on the laptop. How so?

Laptop or tv too old. Or wrong hdmi cable.

Both the imager (notebook), cable and image (TV / monitor) must support HDCP (copy protection).

Your laptop internal screen does not need a hdcp, but all external monitors need it. And from 4K you need then also hdcp2.2
