Do you know that even if you run a long update and then the laptop closes and you have to do the whole update again?

Yes, at the moment you don't check that an update or download is still running or you don't feel like waiting.
You shut it down and then you regret it because you can wait an eternity after starting up and everything is lame and worse you are bothered by the restart.

Make updates without closing and go to bed. Bet it's ready in the morning.
Normal, since the laptop goes into standby when you close the lid. And what's in standby doesn't work anymore, and consequently Updatet doesn't.
How can you set that?
In the power options, you can set whether your PC should go into power saving mode when you close it. You can also switch this off

The laptop only goes into standby if it is set in the energy settings. However, this can also be switched off
Which is not the case by default ;-) So you have to be active manually to turn this off.
Windows / Control Panel / Power Options / Options for power plug or power button (something like that, the power options should usually be on the left side.
