7-8 years ago I got a laptop to play Minecraft with. Was also about 4 years ago without any problems. Years later I wanted to try it again, but it no longer runs smoothly.
Can I reset the laptop or something like that so that Minecraft runs smoothly again as it did back then or is the laptop simply too old and no longer as efficient? It has never really been used much in the 4 years.
In my opinion he is too old for all the new updates and he has to process all of the updates
Which version do you play with and which one did you play with earlier (if you remember that)?
1.8 or something that should have been back then. I tried to start a developer version yesterday because I wanted to try something with friends
All right, too bad.
The thing has the same performance as it did back then, the question is where it goes and whether it can be used… Maybe something Windows is littered with and the device is too busy shoveling rubbish back and forth than playing… Maybe the game is with that too Time (due to updates) has become too exciting… Or it is dusty, overheating and tackles down as a result…
is there already Windows 10 on it?
it's best to check if the temperatures are right under load, if not → screw it on and get the bugs out.
you can also test my "service video"
In the last instance, Windows can be reinstalled cleanly
what kind of graphics card / driver is on it -> maybe an update will help:-)
Minecraft is generally not as graphics-intensive if you choose the settings carefully.
The "standard settings" may have been set higher in the newer version (a lot has changed visually since the first version).
So turn the graphics settings all the way down, visibility too. If it still jerks, there's a lot to be said for an overloaded system. This can be B. The Windows installation that is messy and slowing down, or quite full of RAM. Even if the hard drive becomes full, the system will slow down. There are many factors.
But it should basically work.
You can take a look at Minecraft's minimum requirements.
