Game picks wrong video card?

I have a laptop with an i7 and not such a good amd graphics card. In the AMD Radeon settings, I choose maximum power for the game I want to play, so it will be used. Nevertheless, it is shown to me on HWMonitor in the game that the built-in processor graphics unit, Nvidia hd4600 or so is 90% utilization and my AMD to 0%. Can someone help me there?

Va

Usually you have only one graphics card and if two of the same kind you have two different demenstprechend the computer uses the nvidia.

ga

Have a laptop because you have two

Yi

Normally the igp is switched off if there's an external gpu. I would say bios was misplaced as igp should be disable

Ja

Uhm, could you please stop spreading your knowledge here? 99% of laptops that have a Dedicated GPU also have an iGPU

me

You could theoretically try to disable the iGPU (HD6400). To change, simply open the Device Manager, select the graphics card that is NOT to be used and select "Disable" via right-click.

ga

I did, now everything is blurry and much bigger

Di

Then check if the drivers for the graphics card are installed and change the picture size in the settings.

ga

Could not change the scaling. Everything went through the integrated graphics unit. Have these disabled and started the speil. 1-2 fps and fans have turned on until no more. Direct game stopped, igpu reactivated. The external gpu still had 0%. I do not understand anything anymore

Ri

No! For laptops, desktop operation runs on the iGPU to save power, and the dedicated GPU is manually switched on only by the driver program of the graphics card when it detects that a graphics-intensive application has started.

Ri

Can you adjust somewhere in the AMD software that the dedicated GPU ("high performance graphics unit") should always be used?

ga

So in the game is already activated and have also selected maximum performance for the game, that will not be reset, it will always stay that way, but still the GPU will be displayed at 0% and 0degree
