I offer a course in which all participants are on the same Wi-Fi and have to work with their laptops. So that we can check and view our work, I would like to have the IP addresses of the individual computers. So I can see the results through the software we use. Everything was agreed with the participants, so no secrets, no data theft or whatever.
However, it is not an easy way to view the network IP on Windows and Mac. Is there a way to do that without going through settings? For example about any VB script and the corresponding Mac OS equivalent or no idea what… That would be very helpful - because this way we can save the time that I have to explain to everyone how to look at the IP.
Can also happen through additional mini software. But must be Windows and Mac compatible.
On Windows in cmd:
ipconfig
Under MacOs in the terminal
I take it hard that you distribute your IP addresses via DHCP.
Then why not simply check on the DHCP server which computer has received which leases?
I always take Angry IP Scan, which should also be available for Windows & macOS.
There's also for Windows & macOS:
https://angryip.org/download/#mac /
It also has a function inside to search for open ports, but you can ignore them.
Tip: switch to only answerers in the settings, otherwise there's quite a bit of IP chaos.
