Can someone tell me how to get my laptop fit again?
it is not really littered, but it still runs very slowly.
i want to use it for work, i.e. For exel tables, word google, video conferences and meetings. Rather, it won't, but it's too slow even for that.
actually it is in great condition and i don't understand why it takes so forever to load the desktop or internet site, it has 2 cores with 2.5 ghz and 4 gb ram, plus 2 gb graphics memory and 1 tb hard disk space.
I'm not an expert and my only knowledge is uninstalling things or downloading programs, or the activities already mentioned, ergo I need simple but effective solutions to get things back.
I would be reluctant to buy a new one because it is still like new, I have hardly used it for 3 years, it is almost fresh from the factory, only about 1 year very, very mild use
does anyone think of anything? Maybe you can get it back the way it was at the time of purchase
(There are no viruses or the like on it, I checked with several programs, which I only ever used separately)
Clearly, it is due to the RAM I guess that you use WIN 10, 4GB is simply not enough for that. You can buy new Ram bars, but don't think it's worth it because you only have one 2 Kerner. Today you use at least 4 Kerner or Kerner with a clock rate of about 3, something GHZ. There's also a rule of thumb: Regardless of whether you use it or not, the performance of the components halves every 18 months, so after three years the components only have 1/4 of the performance (not because they are used or something), but because the programs just keep developing and are therefore more and more performance-guzzling.
Thanks for the information, so far i haven't had a clue. So this thing is useless now, sort of?
With new programs, yes. But you can install Windows 7 and Office 2013 or 2010.
Ok, I'll try that out.
Well, Windows unfortunately likes to garbage itself from time to time. One thing that could help would be a disk cleanup. To do this, right-click on drive C in Explorer, clean up properties and disk. When he is done with the calculation, do not confirm, but then click Clean up from system data. When the PC is finished with the calculation, confirm. That might help a little.
Which would certainly be an advantage to upgrade the RAM to at least 8GB. Is now really a minimum for Windows, even if it is only an office device.
Then there's still the question, does your laptop have an HDD or SSD hard drive? If there's still an HDD in there, an upgrade to an SSD would be highly recommended. This way you get the most out of your laptop's performance. Then I would freshly install Windows on it and then it would run much faster.
You don't have to worry about the age, I also have a laptop that is a good 10 years old and that can handle office tasks, etc., with ease.
Ok, but without upgrades there won't be any more grass do you mean? I got the lappi with win10 and for the first six months up to a maximum of 1 year it ran like clockwork, only jetted when I haven't used it for about 2 years, it jerks around and takes forever for everything
I think RAM definitely needs to be upgraded. 4GB are now very little.
What you could try, as I said, would be disk cleanup and if it is still an HDD, defragmenting it might help a little.
I'll write that behind my ears, before that I'll try your tips on how I can do it myself, thank you very much 🙏
But if the laptop is only three years old, as you say, it would be worth upgrading, I think. Don't know what kind of device it is, but 8GB of RAM cost about 40 euro and an SSD, it depends on how much memory you need. Start at around 40 euro for 250 GB and if you need 1TB, they are available for around 100 euro. It would be an investment of a maximum of 140-150 euro, but then he'll also make a few more years. As I said, mine is around 10 years old 😉.
But try the free tips first and maybe that's enough for you 👍.
It shouldn't fail because of that, it's just a shame if you buy something and maybe you can't use it anymore although it hasn't changed, well I'll see, I'll write again under what helped
Unfortunately, that's the way it is with technology. The development is sometimes too fast and especially with PCs and laptops there's no getting around upgrading, although it is usually more difficult with a laptop than with a desktop PC. But I always tell myself that as long as a device is still worth it and I know that I can use it for a few more years, it's worth it.
Well then, I wish you every success and a little feedback would be great 😉👍
