What to look for when buying a laptop? - 1

I would very much like to get a laptop for my studies soon. Doesn't have to be that big. Mainly for research and for Word + Powerpoint, study something humanities, so the main purpose and the required programs do not need a lot of effort. I don't want to gamble with it either. At most on the train e.g. Watching a series, so it should be mobile.
That is roughly it, would you have any basic recommendations for what kind of technical data I should pay attention to? Or even a specific recommendation? It would be great if I don't get well over 500 euro with that, I think that's realistic given my not so high demands, right?

Take a look at this Lenovo IdeaPad

Or the Asus Vivobook S14

I strongly recommend an SSD hard drive. Save so much time and be annoying.

Take a look at this https://www.csl-computer.com… Since you can put everything together as you want or as your wallet allows.

One of the best sites for configuring computers of all kinds.

There are also new modern chic notebooks I think glaube

Pay attention to what - Don't buy scrap.

But as Recee already mentioned, the Huawei MateBook D 14 is good.

A counter question: does it have to be a laptop? For example, you'd be better off with an iPad (according to my mng). I use the iPad 7 myself, which I still bought in 2019 and have no problems, use it at school.

If the keyboard is your thing, you can get a Logitech Keys-To-Go Keyboard (Wireless). (Link to the keyboard: https://www.amazon.de/...00O8K42SE/

Link to the iPad: https://store.storeimages.cdn-apple.com/4668/as-images.apple.com/is/og-ipad-2020?wid=1200&hei=630&fmt=jpeg&qlt=95&op_usm=0.5,0.5&.v=1598894983000 https://www.apple.com/.../ipad-10-2 (Btw this is the iPad 8, which will of course be even more worthwhile in 2020.

A 4 core processor with 8 threads, at least 8GB RAM and the largest possible SSD, or a combination with a hard drive. The cheap notebooks often only have 256 GB, which can quickly become tight over time.

Since you say you need it for university, I would take a 15 inch laptop. 13 is very small to work with. 17 is extremely large and unwieldy. (maybe one with Thin Beezles)

Battery should have at least 50Wh.

Even if it's a bit more expensive I would take it:

https://geizhals.de/...loc=de&v=e

It has a huge battery and very thin edges. That means it's smaller than most 15 inch notebooks (better for transport) and lasts longer because of the battery.

Also has 16 GB of RAM for the price. (Which will be relatively unnecessary for you)

He has USB-C. HDMI. A fingerprint reader, etc.

or that with less RAM:

https://geizhals.de/...loc=de&v=e

That should help you:

In the search criteria I have specified what I think is best for you. (The cheapest is 560 euro)

About the Huawei Matebook: the battery is terribly bad.
40 Wh for the university is very little.

pa

Well, I have 128 GB for school and I have 70 GB free. 256 GB for the university should be enough. You can also use USB sticks, they are small and cheap. Here is an example for the fast one (there's definitely faster at the UVP): https://www.amazon.de/...00YFI1A66/

SSD is built into every new notebook in 2020.

pa

It's not good, I agree with you.

But my buddy also uses it for school and he has 8 hours a day. He comes through easily, he even has almost something left over.

He

If you mean 🤷♂️

And btw: The D 14 does not have 40 Wh but 56: https://consumer.huawei.com/...-d-14-amd/

Thanks for mending and looked at the D15 😂
