How can you hide entire programs?

Read the full question before I get sentenced.

I'm not going to ask how to do something illegal either, so the question should go through.

So it's like that, I order 2-3 times a month in the Darknet Gras. It's illegal, but in my opinion I'm not doing anything wrong and at most I'm damaging my own lungs! I have some programs on my laptop for these orders. Tor, browser, Bitcoin wallet, etc. Now it is like that, a month ago they raided the house of a friend of mine for ordering large quantities of hard drugs and confiscated everything. If something should threaten me, I want to cover myself. I don't want to encrypt the whole laptop either, that would be very noticeable and time-consuming. Where or how could I hide the programs well? It could be the police are coming, my father opens the door and I'm currently using the Tor browser, for example. They would then see the open Tor browser, but not the other programs that I'm not currently using. That would be optimal. I was therefore already suspicious of a Darknet story with the police, so they had enough suspicion.

Would be really grateful for help

I would encrypt the hard drive or a hard drive (or a USB stick) with the Bitlocker

then they bite their teeth…

… At least that's how I do it (although we're about protecting company secrets against theft and not about hiding something from the police, but it's actually the same)

In the event of a confiscation, they will find it either way. So there's no point in hiding the programs.

You can't get around encrypting the hard drive. The entire record (s). Encrypting only the part with the programs does not help if the cache, swap file, etc. Is unencrypted with the corresponding tracks on the disk. Then, in the worst-case scenario, the laptop is gone (don't forget to switch it off), but the police have no legal means of demanding that the password be handed over (even if they try).

However, I would not use Bitlocker, I do not trust MS, Veracrypt under WIndows.

You then have to live with the password entered when starting the computer.

There you can see that you have no idea and you want to scare me kek.

Thank you, then I'll set it up so that I still have time to turn it off in an emergency.

Laptop is just stupid, you can just pull the plug on the PC…

You're right, depending on whether I want to consume for a few more years, I'll probably get one

In my opinion, you can't avoid encryption. In principle, it doesn't matter whether you use Microsoft's own Bitlocker or Veracrypt…

Even if Bitlocker had a security breach (which is not known), only institutions like the NSA would have access. Because of such a small thing, they would never risk it to get known.

The fact that you have encrypted your entire system is - I think - no longer that unusual. Many have, me too. If someone finds or steals my laptop, they shouldn't be able to see my data. In my opinion, this is less noticeable than encrypting just a part - which would also work. With Veracrypt e.g. A virtual partition can be saved in a file.

A completely different alternative would be to use Linux, e.g. On a USB stick (or external hard drive). You just have to be careful with the lifespan of the stick, because they are not designed for long-term use. That could also be encrypted. You could also work with a Raspberry Pi or something. Then the laptop would be completely left out.

Such answers are really helpful, thank you.

Unfortunately you have no idea. Such junk answers should be removed.
