Linux custom keys in keyboard layout?

I bought a laptop that does not use a German keyboard layout.
I have now changed the layout to German and everything fits now, but the key with the larger / smaller character, which I urgently need, is missing. I would like to adjust the keyboard layout so that I can use Alt Gr. + x or Y get.

Can someone explain how I set this up?

Best wishes

What layout do you have now? With "alt" and numbers on the number pad you can enter any key. But is tedious. See http://www.qb64.org/wiki/Keyboard_scancodes

e.g. ESC = "ALT" + "27"

A = "ALT" + "65"

a = "ALT" + "97"

A permanent change is easier.

Change layout like this: https://praxistipps.chip.de/...gung_42662

The link below you sent me is only for Windows users and I have a Linux computer, so unfortunately that doesn't help.
