Laptop picture cut off on TV?

If I connect my laptop to a TV with a cable, the picture is there, but it is slightly cut off the top and bottom. How can I change that, that it is displayed normally. The resolution is the same for both devices.

If you do not know the resolution of the TV, just try several resolutions until you hit the right one.
