Filenames are hieroglyphs?

Hi! I downloaded sounds from YouTube yesterday without copyright. In the beginning everything was normal, virus program did not start. Now I open my laptop today and see that practically everything has been renamed, even the time. Files can be opened, but Word documents etc. Have also been "changed" so that they can no longer read. The system language has remained the same, so it can read the settings etc., just right-clicking with the mouse button, i.e. If you e.g. Deleting something is also different.

I can't delete the sounds from the trash. According to the virus program, nothing is. Now I'm a little afraid that if I go into the WLAN and download something again, the program will hack into the box.

Can a trojan access passwords stored by Google? I don't care about the files on the computer, but the passwords are more important to me.

Which antivirus program do you use? The symptoms sound suspiciously like a virus attack. Not mandatory, but it is very strange what happened there. Download a malware program like Malwarebytes and let it run.

I have 2, unfortunately I can't tell you exactly what they are because I don't know the names by heart and they have been changed.

Can I safely just use the Wi-Fi?

Sa

Since so much has been changed here and I do not know whether a possible virus does more (or what) or whether there's even a Trojan on your PC, I would back up all important files to an external disk, including other ones if necessary important data (it is best to take an empty disk) and then download Malwarebytes and see what the software finds.

I'm trying to download the program now, unfortunately the complete installation is also in hyroglyphs.

Sa

Oh dear, it really sounds like your PC has been completely "bent". Then try to save what is still possible and flatten the box and reinstall the operating system. And above all: steer clear of dubious downloads without license / rights etc!

You misunderstood me, the audios were available for free use. Nothing that officially belongs to an artist.

I will do, thank you.

Sa

Sorry, did not want to assume anything there, it was not clear.
