Professional version of Unitest.

Hi I'm supposed to check the devices - mainly coffee machines, kettles, PCs, laptops, table lamps, etc.

Now I wanted to know how it works with the device and whether I'm doing right?

It is about testing the protective conductor resistance RSL, insulation resistance Riso and the substitute leakage current Iea

My order is plug in the way socket and then switch through to the individual measurements. What do I do if I can't find a pe where I can touch it is difficult with coffee machines or kettles

If you have to ask these questions, you are not suitable and entitled to conduct these exams.

Su

Have you ever thought of the fact that some trainers only convey partial knowledge? The question is entirely justified.

Bo

Even then you should at least know that you are then not allowed to test.

Su

We also had the problem with the coffee machine in the training workshop.

The solution:

The coffee machine is filled with a salt water solution. Then the machine is switched on briefly so that the solution is distributed in the system. During the test, the test probe is held in the water tank. Should there be an insulation fault in the heater, a measurable current would now flow through the salt solution to the probe and the fault would be displayed.

After a successful test, the device must of course be rinsed thoroughly.

Su

No, you have to teach the right approach. That's what instructors are for - myself included.

Bo

To me it sounds like checking the questioner independently. And then you have to know what you are allowed to do yourself.

"I wasn't told…" doesn't help. Because you can also discover for yourself that you are not allowed to test if you do not have sufficient specialist knowledge.

You should have heard the term "person qualified to take the examination" and also know what you have to fulfill as such.

Such measurements are documents that have your signature on them. The devices themselves are not created for "just seeing how it could work" - rather they require correct and conscious use by a trained person. Newer test devices are even built in such a way that the measured values can no longer be erased and are therefore "legally binding".

To ask such a question here in such a forum is completely out of the question. If you are commissioned to carry out the VDE702 AND to sign it, then have your supervisor instruct you so that you then definitely know what you are doing. The thing with the coffee machine, which electrician wrote, is a good example of the fact that you have to know exactly what you are doing, how to do it and what you have to pay attention to!
