Suddenly I have the following phenomenon: A single laptop is extremely slow when downloading via WLAN, all other devices work perfectly. The upload speed is the same (good) for all devices. The phenomenon does not seem to have anything to do with the specific WLAN, but also occurs in other WLANs (e.g. Mobile phone hotspot).
The good devices (2 laptops, one of which is a 10 year old MacBookPro) have the following values: ~ 60-70 Mbit / s download and ~ 7 Mbit / s upload via WLAN, ping 12-15 ms
The LAN connection allows ~ 90-100 Mbit / s, but I can't connect the bad laptop to the LAN for testing because there's no socket on the device.
The problematic laptop has ~ 4 Mbit / s in the download and ~ 7 Mbit / s in the upload, ping ~ 70 ms. In speed tests, the download is often displayed higher in the first few seconds (e.g. 12 Mbit / s) but then quickly drops to the lowest level
It is a new Lenovo IdeaPad S540.
In the comparison test, the distances to the router were the same and very small for all devices (~ 2 m, no walls in between)
What can I do?
After the actual Windows installation you should install the "chipset" drivers of the motherboard and the manufacturer's integrated WLAN card.
If the connection is still "poor", it is very likely that there's a hardware problem (antenna installed poorly, signal quality has deteriorated due to aging / defects in the components).
