The game still works today. What speaks against it?

Honestly, nothing. I'm also a retro fan.

Steam has some indie games for free. Whether the calculator still packs you would have to try.

ACER Aspire MM 15 (M1-571-MS2612), notebook with 15.6 inch display, Core ™ i3 processor, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD, HD Graphics 5500, black

Things like Alien Swarm, World of Warships, etc. Could be worth a try - and if you have not already tried it.

GTA V is going to be difficult - but that's not free anyway.

So a "steak" comes to me in the pan…

Take a look at the homepage of the provider gog.com:

https://www.gog.com/

There you will find a lot of older games that only have low hardware requirements. But also many indie titles are represented. But also some current "blockbusters".

Behind it is the Polish company CD-Project, which also stands behind the Witcher series.

And for a mobile notebook that is anyway recommendable to install their game versions. Because there's no online compulsion and no DRM (copy protection). As a result, most older titles are only able to run on more recent Windows operating systems.

For online games, of course, an internet connection is necessary.

There are also regular sales with changing offers instead. Since you can stock up for really small money with quite a few games.

If you are e.g. If you like Diablo 3, you could buy Titan Quest Anniversary Edition with DLCs. Or Torchlight 1 & 2.

If you tell me what you would like to play, I could give you more specific suggestions.

My own system is quite similar to the performance of an i3. Therefore, I also have a corresponding games collection. And I also know what can be fun.

There you must, however, check yourself if they run on your hardware.
