Laptop loads too slowly?

I got an Acer Aspire 3 about half a year ago. However, a few weeks ago I realized that it takes about 15 - 20 minutes to boot. And even after I've entered my password, it hangs quite often and loads slowly. It can't save space because I have very few files on it. What can I do?
