On the basis of various criteria, I selected suitable computers for the university. But I can't choose between these three computers. It would be important for me that the keyboard is not as loud as my current one and that the ventilation is not totally loud in normal operation - since both of these can be very annoying during the lecture. The Vivobook would irritate me the most from the battery life. With the ThinkPad I heard that it should be particularly suitable for "Education" purposes… In terms of price, they are also approximate due to the operating system addition of the Asus model. In terms of weight, they are also very similar.
Since I could not read much out of the values otherwise, I would be grateful for any recommendation or assessment. You don't want to make the wrong decision for the price.
Take the 13S for 819 euro
Nope… But the 13L. Personally, I like the keyboard better.
For studying, this is the best thing you can get on the market.
Thanks for the answer and recommendation. Can you tell me why?
Neither RAM nor SSD meet my requirements or are comparable to those I chose - so why should the TravelMate be better?
Sure… With the Pentium Silver… And only 256 GB SSD
Exclusion process. The Vivobook has no operating system and an older CPU.
Twice as long as the battery life, no heat and no noise is ultra-light and has an excellent resolution.
Thank you, yes, I would order the operating system for the Vivobook - that would not be an exclusion criterion for me per se. It is more difficult to judge that with the CPU with my knowledge, because I lack expertise.
Would you generally say that I would make a good choice with the 13L?
Just take it.
Or what else you want.
Thanks for the answer, but I think 256 GB SSD are very small. I would rather invest in more SSD and RAM and would then have a small background noise and some heat development. The Vivobook is said to have an extremely long battery life. The resolution is nice and good, but I prefer to use matte displays or anti-glare, because I drove very well with the sunlight on my current notebook (Dell Latitude E6230). Got used to this luxury. Also believe that I don't need a convertible because I find the touchpad function a nice gimmick, but in the end I wouldn't use it enough.
Sorry, sorry, I would actually prefer to have another look on site - unfortunately this is not possible with the Education models.
But thanks for your help!
When you study, you will probably only write or surf the internet.
A tablet would also be enough for you.
Buy the most benevolent PC if you have no more plans.
I've been studying for 5 semesters, so I agree that office and internet in particular have to go well. But since I don't have the money for 2 different LAptops, I planned one for both instead of tablet and PC. That means the laptop must also stream, have some memory for music and photos (but also have an external hard drive) and, above all, several tabs open at the same time and PDFs, Word, Spotify etc. Openly survive… Hence the at least 16GB Ram with which this is not a problem should be. The explanation may have been missing.
That's enough, I have a 500 plate in it, with Office, Photoshop, various image programs, 4 games each need 20-60gb, approx. 1,000 documents / pdf, 100 short videos etc. And just the 256gb full…
8gb ram is enough for such a notebook if you don't do 4k image / video editing. The Acer uses 60% less electricity. What are you studying?
The links from you are real work tools for the sales force, but nothing to study.
You can see how the price will change in the next 4 weeks, at the moment it is only a pre-order. Even then you can learn more about the IPS screen.
So I also saved pictures and music and still think that I could cut back here. But not with the RAM. The linked devices are also intended for studying and would be worthwhile as an investment. My studies don't last long and then I still need a good device. Just like in private, where I would also use this laptop here. That's why I don't need a laptop that can only use the office and the Internet. But above all many tabs and programs at the same time.
In addition, I would not buy a miserly product. At the same time, the new Travelmate from acer with a student discount is close to the 1000 euro mark and that is simply too expensive for me. It would be worth it. But the other equipment of this old model is significantly worse than the ones I mentioned. I already recognize this with my lay knowledge…
Can he, as I said… He gets 400 tabs too.
It's just not a laptop for video editing or gaming…
The equipment is not worse, just optimized for you, which makes it a little more expensive because nothing was thrown together.
But you have to know what you are doing, as long as you do not know the Acer, you will not regret deciding against it.
And don't forget fast USB is also included.
Since you have an external hard drive, the cheapest PC is enough for you.
The external one has only around 250 GB and is already full: -D
Thanks for your recommendations. But you talked about the new Travelmate, not about the above, right?
Do you have a recommendation for the above?
Besides the Asus, I would not recommend Lenovo either way, even if the Lenovo performance is better.
How so?
Because Asus not only manufactures PC but also components for PC accessories.
E.g. Inner parts of a pc laptop.
Lenovo only uses its name and design in a PC laptop. The other parts can be from other manufacturers as well as from Asus.
That means you recommend the Asus computer? And thank you!
In addition to all the other brands, the Asus doesn't matter whether Lenovo Acer… Or Sony
