Have a Vodafone Cable 250 Mbits contract with the associated cable modem. An Asus RT-AC 58U router is attached to the cable modem.

Is there a way to stream files that are on my laptop (e.g. An M3U music playlist) from anywhere outside of the home network?

I know there's Asus' own cloud service, and other cloud services, but I would like to access my PC directly via a generated link and insert the URL into the VLC player, for example, so that the music playlist is remote Computer is played from my computer.

You can upload your files to Google Drive (free, reliable and only requires a registration. From there you can also access your files from other devices, you can also send yourself an email with the files)

In general, without going into specific software etc.

You have to make the laptop available on the internet. To do this, the laptop must of course be switched on at all times or switched on if necessary. You need port forwarding. As far as I know, Vodafone Cable works with DS Lite or CG NAT, so you do not have an individual IPv4 address. Your computer can only be reached via IPv6. You have to access the IPv6 address of the computer, not that of the router. To be reachable via IPv4, there are still other tricks.

A service that enables the streaming of the files must also be installed on the computer.
