I can also recommend Inkscape https://inkscape.org/de/. This is a free vector graphics program for Windows, Mac and Linux. Vector graphics have the advantage that they can be scaled without loss. I also recommend taking a look at the community gallery to see what is possible with Inkscape. You can also join the community for free, then you can publish your work there.
