Work on my Thinkpad with complex sound editing programs. Had the problem already more often that he turned off even though the charger (output 20V, 2.25A) was plugged in. Do I need another charger, another battery or is it not possible to use so elaborate programs (FL Studio,.) on a laptop?
Instantaneous battery 10.8V - 4.4Ah - 48Wh
Other battery 10.8V - 6.6Ah - 72Wh
Is it really true that the charger offers almost twice as high charging voltage as that of the battery?
usual are a few more volts, which copes with each battery depending on the ampere. Even fast chargers work with significantly higher current, but never with double voltage.
So stands on the charger. Take it for granted that it is true
How old is the battery? It should not be empty when the charger is plugged in.
That's right, laptop chargers are all at 20V or more.
Only 1 year. I was also surprised, so I assumed that it is due to my Ram-cpu-heavy use
Then makes a "larger" battery probably sense. You could even measure the charger, if it really provides the power that is on it.
If the notebook draws more than 45 watts, it may go down because of the weak power supply.
My PSU has 90 watts, and still charges under full load, albeit slower.
Can a battery with 48Wh ever pull more than 45Watt?
The battery does not matter, but the notebook. A notebook runs without a battery even if it hangs on the power adapter (in your case maybe not).
If the notebook consumes 70Watt of power, but the power supply delivers only 45 watts, then the notebook pulls out the "missing" 25 watts from the battery. When it is empty, the box goes off.
The 48Wh (watt-hours) say how long the notebook can run at a certain power consumption. The 72Wh battery runs logically longer with the same load.
