I want to buy a new laptop + monitor for my office and connect the two.
It will likely be a 32 "screen; what resolution should a laptop have for the quality of the monitor to be good?
This is completely irrelevant as the resolution of the monitor and the laptop screen have nothing to do with each other.
The graphics card manages the external monitor independently of the internal one
In other words, you can also connect a 4k monitor if you only have an FHD display installed
They don't collide with each other
Thank you very much for the quick answer, I didn't know!
That means I could e.g. Get a very good picture with a Surface Laptop Go on a 32 "monitor?

One can assume that the UHD of the https://www.intel.de/content/www/de/de/products/processors/core/i5-processors/i5-1035g1.html outputs up to 5120 * 3400 pixels via DP
The maximum supported resolutions with an external monitor are documented here:
https://support.microsoft.com/...f7a66a3b28
With a monitor, the Surface Laptop Go 4096 x 2304 can run at 60 Hz.
With two monitors 4096 x 2304 with 30 Hz or 2560 x 1600 with 60 Hz.
Thanks!
