How do I get it away / what is it?

So that goes to all computer people! I have a problem: I just went into my laptop today and then I just wanted to open Microsoft Edge but that didn't respond then I wanted to go into a game but it said that I don't have the permissions even though I play the game very much played a lot… I don't know what to do anymore I tried to restart my laptop but that didn't change anything. So I have a guess that it may be a virus or something because lately such things have occurred: "There was an error on your PC, we restarted", or it always comes, your virus protection has expired " or he switches. But I don't know exactly. Can someone help me please?

Na

Have you basically installed virus protection on your PC that is also activated?

ka

Please install a virus protection program and scan the laptop!

Ga

What is built into your PC? What game is it? Edge opens at all (and then does not respond) or does Edge not open at all?

ma

Well I got it for Christmas and now it was there that the virus protection had expired

ma

So how do you do that with the scan?

Na

Yes, normally there's virus protection installed, but this is usually only valid for 30 or 60 days and then has to be extended.

ma

So the game is Roblox and Edge has only opened but you can't do anything about it and now it doesn't respond. And I don't really know what is built into my pc.

ma

So does that mean I have to pay money for an anti-virus program?

Na

There are programs that are free and others that are paid. Of course, this involves a different scope of services. Which variant you choose is ultimately up to you.

Ga

Uninstall your expired virus protection and switch on Windows Defender instead (think you have Windows 10 installed) and scan it with it

ma

Mhm ok can you recommend anything?

Na

I have been using Kaspersky for years and am actually very happy with it. It is available in a free variant with limited functionality, but also in a purchase variant.

If you have Windows 10, you don't need additional virus protection. The existing Windows Defender is on a level with other well-known manufacturers and therefore completely sufficient. If you don't have Windows 10, I would use Avast. Avast is free. There are also paid versions, but you don't necessarily need them.

ma

OK thanks

Install the Malwarebytes virus scanner and scan for viruses

Otherwise, it can just be a system error.

So the whole thing is not in the "normal" frame of panic!

Edge may have hung up, nothing bad, that happens when some files, for example .dll files, that are related to the application, in this case Microsoft Edge, are not working properly.

The virus protection process is secondary if you have Windows 10.

Write down which operating system you have and which anti virus.

The game can be the same error as Edge, but I don't suspect that, did you also log in with the correct administrator account? If so, do you start the game via a shortcut? If so go to the installation folder of the game and start the .exe of the game there, the game still does not run, unlock the secret administrator account via cmd here you need Windows 10. (google times how to do this)

If it still doesn't work, uninstall and reinstall the game.

An error has occurred, this message can occur if, for example, a file or a program is not loaded correctly or is not executed correctly. The whole thing can be anything from damage to third parties to a ram error.

Your descriptions definitely don't suggest a virus, they just say that your pc can't load or run some things (sometimes, unless the file or program is corrupt), no need to panic.

Cleaning up the hard drive would be helpful.

If everything does not help, then your Windows is set up again (Google here for instructions)

ma

So i have windows 10 (home) and how can you see which anti virus i have? Sorry but I'm only 13.

ma

And with the game I can't open it because it says: "access denied"

ma

Ok so as far as i know McAfee protects me

Windows key> Settings> Apps> Search this list> Search for: Security / Anti / Virus

Press the Windows key go to the gear (Settings) then on Apps then search in this list search for things like security and anti or virus.

Or take screenshots (Windows key + print) of all apps and upload them here, then I can tell you which one is your antivir program.

You can find screenshots by opening Explorer: Windows + E> Images> Screenshots

Or

Windows + E> This Pc> Hard Drive (C)> User> Name of the user you are logged in with> Images> Screenshots

Pa

As I said, this is due to the access rights, you are sure that you are an administrator

Pa

Ok, you can safely ignore that, because windows defender (Windows 10's own anti virus program) is really good for windows 10

ka

Which virus program do you have?
