I have been the proud owner of a ThinkPad since yesterday. A Radeon RX640 and the normal Intel chip are installed. I'm starting to despair of how I can run games on the Radeon, not the Intel. I tried all sorts of tips on Google, was in the BIOS, have the latest drivers and software for GRAKA and nothing wants to help, so here is my search.
maybe someone can help.
Is the driver installed and does the graphics card appear in the device manager?
With Windows 10 you can choose the preferred GPU. https://www.pcwelt.de/...en,3450730 where it is described.
Well, I had the same problem before, but with my Nvidia graphics card. In the end it was enough to go to the "Nvidia Control Panel" and select my GraKa under "3D Settings". Unfortunately, I don't know anything about Amd, but maybe it's a similar process.
I hope I was able to help you just a little bit.
Are both drivers in the device manager?
If only one.
Then you probably have to select the Intel UHD chip in the BIOS or choose the preferred one.
I also have an i3-8100 with intel UHD630, which can be deactivated in the bios
Many thanks for your response. It would have been possible with an older version of the AMD software, but unfortunately the new one no longer offers this function. Nevertheless many thanks!
My problem is that I can no longer get into the BIOS, and as soon as I switch off the graphics card via the device manager, none of the only two games I currently have works. Any other tips?
Yes, not so quick, tell me the exact name of your device
are both cards in the device manager? No, no?
Hello @heizfeld! I found the mistake! The games I played were not at all complex enough to even address the AMD. As soon as the games have a certain requirement, the AMD card starts.
Well, that's a bold assertion. A graphics card that chooses the games. Is probably brand new now.
