I have a question for the geek!
I'm looking for a new laptop, especially for gaming (middle class) and I especially noticed 2 laptops to choose from and had a few questions:
Equipment:
Laptop 1: Ryzen 7 4800h, 8 cores, 16 processors, but only 60 Hz, Freesync, up to 4.2 Ghz
Laptop 2: Intel i5 10300h, 4 cores 8 processors, 144 Hz, up to 4.5 Ghz
Both laptops have an Nvidia RTX 2060 and 16GB Ram / 512GB SSD with FHD / IPS display
What would be better? Is it more important to have more Hz or more cores when gaming? Which one would you recommend to me? I mostly play first-person shooters like Warzone, Battlefield, but also Valorant
I would be grateful for any honest and helpful answer!
I'm not a weirdo who likes technology, but a gaming laptop is a pure waste of money
How many cores does not matter. The main thing is that it is strong enough.
Take the Intel.
Yes that's true. But if the guy wants to travel with it or something else, he's allowed it.
Actually, I would recommend a PC to you, but only from the selection you gave, I would personally tend to number 2. With normal gaming you will not use either of the two processors to the maximum.

I don't find either optimal.
The Ryzen 4800h single core is slightly stronger than the 10300h and twice as strong in the multicore. So you don't have to worry about the CPU bottlenecking. There are gamers who think you can see the difference between 60Hz and 144Hz. I think it's more of an imagination than that you actually see it. No real difference, especially with single player games.
With Laptop 2, of course, the 144Hz display is the selling point if you play a lot of competitive shooters. However, I strongly doubt that the CPU and the RTX2060 bring 144fps.
General: A gaming notebook is a lot of money for little performance compared to a PC
You probably never sat in front of a 144Hz monitor. EVERYONE notices the difference, not just some.
I sold mine. I now have UHD 60Hz with HDR and 10bit color space. WQHD with 144Hz can remain stolen from me
That's nice for you, but there's still a noticeable difference. Whether or not you switched to UHD 60Hz doesn't change that.
Doesn't mean that everyone needs it.
Many thanks for your response!
