I'm looking for a gaming / office laptop with a max. Should cost 1400 euro.
The laptop should be 17 inches. Weight is not that important.
1. What do you want to use your laptop for?
School / work (office, internet) and for gaming
1.1. Do you want to use the laptop primarily mobile or stationary? How mobile should the laptop be? Should it be a 2-in-1 notebook / convertible?
Mostly stationary, but not always in the same place, sometimes mobile
1.2. If you want to play games: which games? What level of detail?
e.g. TheWitcher, CS GO, Far Cry
1.3. Music / image / video editing or CAD: which software? Professional or hobby?
e.g. Hard drive recovery software
2. Would you like a touch screen or a particularly high display quality?
No touchscreen display, good display quality
3. How long should the battery life be?
A couple of hours when working with Word and Google
4. Which operating system do you want to use? Is there a license? Should the notebook already have an operating system pre-installed? Do you get Windows from university?
Operating system does not have to be pre-installed. If it does Windows10.
5. Do you have any wishes regarding the design, the processing quality, the material or the color?
At least medium processing quality.
6. Are there any other special requirements that were not queried? Big hard drive? Number pad? Keyboard backlight? Pen support? Docking via USB-C / Thunderbolt 3? CD / DVD drive? (Educational) discounts? Service & guarantee? Maintenance options? SD card reader?
HDMI slot, at least 2-3 USB slots, would be advantageous if it could be upgraded (e.g. New hard drive, etc…) but not absolutely necessary
Here I have selected several, but I'm not sure which data are more important and which are less.
I have also read that sometimes good hardware is installed that can't be fully utilized.
The first two laptops appeal to me the most, but the 30% puzzles me.
I'm also open to completely different ideas.
